Zoning Board approves variance for telecommunications equipment site

NY LIVINGSTON — Livingston Zoning Board grants telecommunications equipment parcel variance. The board unanimously approved an area variance for Mid-Hudson Fiber to acquire a 0.05-acre lot with no setbacks at 2356 US-9, where the company has operated a cell tower and fiber optic equipment hub under long-term contract since 1985. Zoning Board Chair Thomas Alvarez and members Sarah Price, Bradley Papp, Kyle Nilan, David Kimball, and Jason Munz cited hardship based on property owner Keil Equipment Co.'s refusal to sell a larger parcel.
The variance is subject to Planning Board review and conditions requiring a right-of-reverter and written consent from Keil's.
